Mantua was
a rather small town and very chill. The town is popular with Italian tourists,
with its beautiful lake side walk paths and a charming little old town. We did
not have any preplanned events or activities for the city, which was good
because the traveling was starting to take its toll and we were tired. Mainly
we rested a lot and took small walks by the lakes and around the city centre.
The lake sides were the best part of the town, with spring turning to summer everything
was so green and the animals by the lake were all in their spring mode. We saw
many mallard birds fight over mates and once even a duck wanted to get in on
the interspecies action.
The weather
was mostly good, with only one rain storm, but that did not stop us from going
out to the lakes. On top of that we ate well and caught up on writing blog and
going through all the hundred and hundred of pictures Anne had taken. Mantua
was a charming town which I enjoyed, but Anne fell in love with. She really
enjoyed the green of the plants and the peace of the lake side even though it
was only minutes away from the old town. So, Mantua was a pleasant stop on our
way to Venice for the last leg of our trip. You know the drill, see you in a
few my peeps.
